WHAT IS VENTURING?

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities.

Venturing crews can specialize in a variety of avocation or hobby interests. Our Venture crew specializes in Shotgun, Rifle and Pistol sports! We love to do all sorts of outdoor activities, train younger Boy Scouts, etc. Along the way we make progress toward some very prestigious awards and achievements, including the Venturing Silver Award, which is similar in scope to the Eagle Scout award.

We're currently active in our 2011/2012 Scouting year and so we encourage to apply all sincerely interested young men or women who are at least 14 but not yet 21. As with all BSA units, membership is not a right or guarantee! You must first be interviewed by the Crew Advisor who will assess the personality and maturity of each applicant to ensure a good, safe fit with our group. Contact Steve Martin at 595-7575 for more information.
